My Favourite Cafes In Auckland

This is a blog post I have been wanting to do for some time, so am very pleased to finally share it with you all. One of my favourite things to do in the weekend or on a day off from work/ study is to catch up with friends and family, more often than not this ends up being over breakfast or lunch. I love trying new cafes and eateries that serve fresh, wholesome food made with nutritious ingredients that are good for the planet and your body.  So here I have compiled a small collection of some of my favourite places to go all around Auckland, most of them offer organic, nutritious food as well as vegeterian, vegan and gluten free options. Enjoy!

1. Mondays Wholefoods, Kingsland

Ok so I may be a bit bias with this one ;-) but honestly how can you not fall in love with this place. Covered in beautiful vines Mondays has the most spectacular setting. A unique courtyard makes it the perfect place to share brunch with the girls or a light wholesome dinner with the family. Something I absolutely love about Mondays is how they can take such simple, nutritious ingredients and turn them into flavoursome dishes that are sure to please anyone.

Favourite menu item: Middle East Feast - so much goodness!
Favourite Vegan Option: Waffles and ALL the smoothies!
Favourite Gluten Free Option: Housemade gf bread with avocado & vegan mushrooms

2. Little Bird Organics, Ponsonby & Britomart

I find the way in which Little Bird Organics prepare their food truly fascinating. Their food is organic, raw, refined sugar free and vegan yet is full of flavour and very satisfying. They serve a range of breakfast, brunch and lunch options as well as a selection of nutrient packed smoothies and cold pressed juices. One of my favourite things about Little Bird is the cabinet that is always full of delicious raw sweet treats such as truffles, cheese cakes and other goodies.

Favourite menu item (Sweet): Acai bowl - pictured above
Favourite menu item (Savoury): Raw Pizza - pictured above or Raw Tacos

3. Dear Jervois, Herne Bay

Another goodie is Dear Jervois, with an extensive menu, this cafe is sure to please all. I have been here many times and everytime have tried something different (with the exception of always getting the cacao, maca smoothie - it's a must try believe me!) the food is always amazing and served very quickly.

Favourite menu item: Acai Bowl (pictured above)
Favourite Vegan Option: Vegan Macro Bowl (pictured above)
Favourite Gluten Free Option: Smashed avocado on Minimalist Baker seeded bread

4. Canopius, Papakura

Canopius is a relatively new cafe that I tried only recently but was amazed by how good the food was. This is a great option for those who live out South and don't want to drive all the way into the city for a healthy breakfast or lunch. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, both savoury and sweet. Plus a cabient loaded with beautiful raw desserts.

Favourite menu item: Gourmet Mushroom Lentil Burger (pictured above)
Favourite Vegan Option: Green Energizer Smoothie Bowl

5. Town Mouse, Pukekohe

Town Mouse is very reasonably priced and has a good range of menu options which create the perfect little breakfast spread. With lovely interior and friendly staff Town Mouse is a great place to visit. There are great cabinet options for a healthy take away lunch as well as catering those who are dairy free and/or gluten free.

Favourite menu item: All the smoothies!
Favourite Vegan Option: Buckwheat, puffed millet, fresh berry muesli, coconut yoghurt vanilla (pictured above)
